Autodesk has released a new version of the Max/Design 2012 Subscription Advantage Pack for customers on subscription that fixes an issue with some third party renderers that wouldn't render as a service in the previous version.
This update addresses the following issue:
Fix added 2011-12-15 - A defect causing the failure to execute 3dsmax.exe or 3dsmaxcmd.exe from an external service was fixed. This enables third party renderers to be used with the Subscription Advantage Pack for 3ds Max 2012 & 3ds Max Design 2012.

If you've already installed the Subscription Advantage Pack uninstall it before installing the updated version.
